Athlete Accolades

Bree Wee at Lavaman
Bree Wee at Lavaman

Congratulations to Bree Wee for her fine overall victory and course record in Sunday’s Lavaman Triathlon.  Bree is on fire this year and it’s super cool to see her passion, and hard work and dedication pay off.  Check her blog for a race report. Keep it rolling!

Susan Hayden, one of my heros, had an awesome race in Sunday’s Ironman 70.3 Galveston, finishing 8th in her age-group and running significantly faster than she’s ever run for 13.1 miles in a triathlon.  I’m looking forward to cheering her on in what is shaping up to be a great Ironman Texas.

Julia Polloreno finished Saturday’s Ironman 70.3 Oceanside about 25 minutes faster than previous attempts.  I anxiously await a story in Triathlete Magazine from Julia, extolling the training benefits of run practice while occasionally pushing a double stroller containing two enthusiastic children.  Congrats, Julia.

My NYC buddy, Stacey Finerman won her age-group in the Central Park Duathlon last week.  You continue to amaze and inspire, SW.  See you in FL!

Aussie mate, Bruce Weaver rocked the Ipswitch 170km (103.90 miles for those who don’t speak Aussie) bike race.  Bruce continues to march towards his Ironman 70.3 debut in Kona this June.  Looking good so far, Bruce.
